It is not everyday where you find the quaintness of an old-fashioned pastry shop that's been in business for over 50 years. Circo's Pastry Shop established in 1945, rests on the corner of Hart St. and Knickerbocker Ave, in Brooklyn, New York. Over fifty years ago, Mr.Circo himself started the business, developing a well renowned name that everyone grew to love. In 1968 two bakers from Sicily, Nino Pierdipino and Michele Vinci joined Circo  in his pastry shop. By 1973 Circo decided to let his two best bakers, Pierdipino and Vinci, buy him out. With a combined total of eighty years experience between them, Nino Pierdipino and Michele Vinci became partners. They carried out the business for 32 years until Vinci sold his share to Pierdipino.

As an eleven-year-old boy in Sicily, Pierdipino worked in a pastry shop baking pastries. In 1966 He moved from Italy to Bushwick, NY. Now Pierdipino runs the bakery with his two sons Salvatore and Anthony. By teaching them a few, "Tricks of the trade," he hopes to someday pass on the family buisness. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, both Salvatore and Anthony knew they wanted a share in the family trade. The three partners now employ eleven workers and service a wide variety of clientele. They specialize in French and Italian pastries and cater to weddings, birthdays, special occasions, and holidays. Circo's storefront is the only one on Knickerbocker Ave that reminds people of the "Old Neighborhood." The stores ,"Old Fashioned touch, " is so appealing the even a few movies were filmed in it. Pierdipino pledges Circo's commitment to it's customers. "We will always make a good product and extent that touch of personal service." If you're a chocolate fan or just in the mood for something sweet, the trip to Circo's is worth it.
